On 10 March 2011, Ascent Network Solutions Inc., the Philippine eBeam distributor, awarded an eBeam Interactive Whiteboard device to the Rizal Campus of San Beda College. The device was presented to the School Principal, Mrs Soledad Lecaroz, by the Ascent team represented by its Operations Manger, Maricris Tan and its Content Development Head, Cyd Leongson. School officials headed by Mr. Roberto Gonzales (Technology and Livelihood Education Coordinator) and Mr. Joel Filamor (Administrative Officer) and TLE teachers (Ms. Ivy Lagramonte and Ms. Lenie Libunao) also attended the said event.

Ascent believes that as one of the country’s leading educational institutions, San Beda College should also be the pioneer in innovative instruction, particularly in the use of the most recent educational tools, such as eBeam. Supportive of diverse learning styles, the eBeam Interactive Whitelboard enhances classroom communication, enables teachers to customize and contextualize their lessons and engages students and improves their academic performance. eBeam’s user friendly features would contribute to San Beda’s commitment “to stimulate learning to the maximum” through the technology-enhanced instruction.

San Beda’s commitment to provide globally-competitive instruction through technology-enhanced education is supported by the Infinite Learning Program (ILP), a comprehensive computer curriculum program developed by Ascent Network Solutions for use by its partner schools. San Beda College had decided to implement the ILP Curriculum for its basic education primarily for its alignment with the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework recently employed by the Philippine Department of Education. ILP’s up-to-date textbooks that cover the latest technology skills and areas, its comprehensive teacher training and alignment with the National Educational Standards for Students (NETS.S) are also among the reasons why San Beda College-Rizal chose Ascent’s Infinite Learning Program.
